Cloud ERP solutions are essential for organizations seeking agility, innovation, and seamless transitions in today’s dynamic business environment. This week, SAP introduces new generative AI functionalities to accelerate cloud adoption, custom ABAP development options for partners, an AI activation service for rapid deployment of AI capabilities, and a robust portfolio of learning and certification offerings to ensure professionals are equipped with the latest digital skills.

Generative AI Helps RISE with SAP Customers Move to the Cloud Faster

SAP announces a new generative AI functionality that helps customers move to the cloud faster. It is available as a beta later this year and will roll out broadly in the first quarter of 2025. Accessed through the SAP Cloud ALM solution, customers and consultants will be able to get expert answers, proactive guidance, and task automation aligned with the RISE with SAP Methodology, a framework to drive consistency for all RISE with SAP implementations that includes access to SAP experts, partners and other tools and services to support successful transitions to the cloud.

SAP Announces New Partner Development Option for Custom ABAP Code in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

SAP announces new options for partners to develop and deliver custom ABAP code in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to enable the development of bespoke projects with cloud-ready and upgrade-stable ABAP code. This new, scalable option provides partners with a standardized way to build, ship and maintain add-ons within SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Using the SAP Add-On Assembly Kit as a service (AAKaaS), this development option is designed to be deployed for large numbers of customers.

AI Activation Service Now Available for RISE with SAP

SAP announces an AI activation service for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition customers. With this service, customers can quickly activate their Joule copilot and embedded premium AI applications. The service includes a comprehensive workshop that outlines AI strategy and roadmap scenarios to ensure all technical prerequisites for using Joule are met.

SAP Expands its Portfolio of Learning and Certification Offerings

SAP launches new role-based certifications, free training materials and hands-on opportunities for developers and tech professionals. These includes 60 new self-paced learning journeys, trial experiences and solution demonstrations that help tech professionals benefit from the latest fully integrated and practical training.

SAP is also offering new certifications that validate skills for solution transformation consultants, solution architects and professional low-code, no-code developers. These offerings help ensure experts have the skills they need to create business transformations for their company or customers, making their skill set more valuable in today’s job market. For example, one new learning journey uses practical use cases to help consultants and administrators deepen their understanding of SAP LeanIX features, a critical element of enterprise architecture.

This wave of new learning offerings fulfills SAP’s pledge to upskill 2 million people with digital skills by 2025. To facilitate ongoing learning and to celebrate coding and collaboration, Devtoberfest, a free, virtual event, takes place October 14-25.
