Building future skills
By 2030, the labor and skills shortage could leave the world with a shortfall of 85 million skilled workers and an estimated $8.5 trillion in missed annual revenue. This shortage underscores an issue of untapped potential due to disparities in skills, not a lack of individuals willing to learn. SAP CSR addresses this challenge by facilitating equitable access to education and opportunities.
Education
SAP Educate to Employ is a demand-led, digital-first 'learn-to- earn' pathway that educates and enables youths in need with essential competencies for the digital economy through thedevelopment of their skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values. The program aims to place successful candidates intoemployment within the SAP ecosystem.
Ecosystem development
Yoma (Youth Marketplace) centers on empowering youth with opportunities through partnerships, enhanced programming, and innovative tech. It enables skills growth, impact creation, and income access while building a verified portfolio. Co-designed with African youth, supported by Fondation Botnar and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and endorsed by UNICEF, Yoma engages 300,000+ youth across eight African nations with 80 partners like SAP.
Entrepreneurship
SAP aims to educate young entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and opportunities for successful entrepreneurial ventures. This effort fosters creativity, innovation, and business acumen, providing a solid foundation for youth to overcome socio-economic challenges through entrepreneurship. It empowers the next generation to drive change and create economic value. For example, we brought 50 young innovators to COP28.
Engaging and developing people
SAP CSR enables employees around the world to experience powerful skill-building and professional development through volunteerism and pro bono consulting. In 2023, more than 20,000 employees collectively shared 140,000 hours with nonprofits and social enterprises, participating in the creation of tangible, positive impact.
Enabling impactful volunteerism all year round
Traditional and skills-based volunteer activities are amplified through our “Moments of Service” initiative. It provides valuable employee engagement, team building, and culture-building, as well as a chance for individuals and groups to deepen their empathy and open themselves up to new perspectives.
Supporting pro bono consulting as employee development
Pro bono consulting programs such as SAP Social Sabbatical invest in employee engagement, experiential learning, and leadership development for outcomes including:
74% of employees report a positive long-term impact on their professional careers
86% increased collaboration abilities with diverse colleagues
Connecting impact businesses with the support to grow
Together with MovingWorlds, TRANSFORM, and Unilever, SAP launched the TRANSFORM Support Hub. This collaborative platform is a global one-stop shop for nonfinancial support of social enterprises that builds capacity for impact businesses, including those trying to enter and grow within corporate supply chains.
